Sydney Sleep Centre has partnered with A Mindful Way, to offer an online cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and mindfulness course, called A Mindful Way to Healthy Sleep.  This six-week course provides patients with a convenient, cost effective and proven treatment for insomnia. This program will assist all patients with insomnia to better treat the underlying causes of their condition and to treat their insomnia without medications. CBT for insomnia provides the best results for the long term. If your GP or Specialist has recommended that you use this program, you can access it using the links below:

A Mindful Way to Healthy Sleep - information

In this six-week online course you’ll be guided every step of the way to learn the lifelong skills of mindfulness and cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBTi). The mindfulness training will help you learn how to slow down a busy mind and reduce stress and tension in daily life. The CBTi training will help you to change unhelpful behavioural habits and thinking patterns that interfere with sleep; and teach you how to calm the mind and body when you can’t sleep at night.

Each week you’ll need about 1-2 hours to watch a series of short videos, complete some written exercises, and practice the meditations. You’ll have access to all the resources you need, including meditation recordings and a course workbook to help you practice the skills needed to prevent chronic insomnia occurring again in the future.  You can start the course anytime and your access will be open for three months. Further Insomnia Help

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for insomnia is also available at Sydney Sleep Centre through our Clinical Sleep Psychologist. This is one-on-one individual assistance and therapy on site at Sydney Sleep Centre. Some patients may prefer this or may move up to this after completing the A Mindful Way online CBT program.  Further information can be found in our website here. Patients who do not improve with the online CBT program should return to their referring doctor, and/or see a Sleep Specialist Physician or Clinical Sleep Psychologist for further assessment and management.
